Food Sensitivities
Food Sensitivities are also usually not true food allergies & are often nothing got to do with the food!

1. What’s the difference between a food intolerance and a food allergy?
A food intolerance usually affects digestion and causes discomfort, like bloating, stomach pain, gas, headaches, or fatigue.
A food allergy involves the immune system and can be serious or even life-threatening. If symptoms include trouble breathing, swelling of the lips or throat, or hives, that’s an allergy and needs urgent medical care at the emergency room in hospital.
2. Why do I feel bad after eating certain foods?
Your body may have trouble breaking down or handling certain foods. This can happen for many reasons, like low stomach acid, low bile throughout , mental stress, gut lining irritation, or changes in gut bacteria numbers, species and strain. Sometimes it’s temporary, sometimes longer-term.
3. I have histamine type reactions but anti-histamines arent working. I dont know if its food or what is happening?
Oxalates, Sulphur and Salicialates are food particles that can cause issue when you have genetic snips related to detox low and even fluctuating oestrogen during your period or peri menopause can cause anxiety and insomnia because the body produces more histamine under stress and hormonal changes. Ask GP for a whole blood histamine test to start and bring it to a gut health expert.
4. My Food Intolerance tests are clear/ say i have gluten or dairy or sugar issues. I gave those foods up and i see no difference. Do i follow these results?
In general food intolerance testing is a SCAM. It largely shows up what you ate in the past 72 hours. If you were truly allergic to a food, you would have figured that out in childhood as you would have had severe vomiting, tummy pain or diarrhea.
5. How do i fix food intolerances?
Proper testing and investigation and a healing programme has to be done with a gut health practitioner. Hospital free stool tests or scopes are not sensitive enough to see the kinds of infection that cause fatigue, anxiety, ADD etc.
6. Yes you can get rid of most food senstivities-I have!
Once you treat the underlying cause of infection, which maybe bacteria, yeast or mold overgrowth but it can also be poor liver bile flow, not enough stomach acid and a leaky gut- even changing your nervous system and how your brain reacts to stress and healing these overtime will likely get rid of your food sensitivities more than just eliminating food alone. Let me show you the way
7. What FREE things can i do before i see a gut health specialist?
Elimination diets are the only way to ascertain what you are sensitive to. Do 2 weeks gluten free, note how you feel, then do a 2 week dairy free, then 2 week nightshades free diet. These can be useful to do before your appt. Do low stomach acid FREE test under services tab. Keep a diary of all problem foods and even meals that cause no problem for a month.
