Probiotics: INSIDE SCOOP. Probiotics are the bugs themselves. They can be found in yogurt, fermented foods or supplements. Prebiotics are the food that probiotics feed off. Like garlic, leeks, onion. Postbiotics like Butyrate are the compounds like the SHORT CHAIN FATTY ACIDS that are produced by the gut microbes.
Digestive enzymes support digestion but stomach acid supplements are often more needed than digestive enzymes. A body that has its nutritional needs met, makes all its own digestive enzymes remember that. So its not the food. Its the fact that your body is crying out for minerals and nutrients. We test and treat those to stop food sensitivities.
There are no large clinical trials on probiotics as they are classified as foods and it is illegal to assign a medical claim to a food. No pharmaceutical or drug company are going to put funding into a food a herb or anything that cannot be patented into a drug and make at least 10 years of profits.

I NEVER recommend probiotic drinks or capsules for bloating because they usually dont help

We also don’t have enough standardisation in Probiotics. Beware of the labels. Read everything. If the label does not say the quality of microorganism ie number of colony forming units ie CFU and the full Latin name of the microbes in the bottle then BEWARE.
Stick to yogurts and avoid fermented foods if uv IBS. Stay aaway from fermented foods if you have gut issues as they can be feeding the problem. Itchy scalp, skin, dandruff etc can be a sign of candida overgrowth in body and fermented foods can grow them also.
