Why to Stop Intermittent Fasting if Stressed Out

🤯Please ladies STOP fasting for weight loss 🙏. So many of my younger patients are doing this or asking about it.. It wrecks havoc on the bodies hormonal balance, which eventually negatively effects your fat burning metabolism long term.
😑 When fasting the body produces cortisol and stress hormones to survive, cortisol often causes insomnia in women.. And you cant burn fat when your not sleeping well.. You stop making oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone, those super important female feel good hormones when you are fasting!!
🍲Eating small meals frequently is better for your digestion and your long term hormonal balance. I fasted for my 30s for weight loss and now i know so much more about the womans body, i reflect that fasting 18hrs a day was somewhat behind my early perimenopause
👌Here are some other tips. Go easy on apple cider vinegar. Its still acetic acid vinegar afterall. No more than 1 tablespoon a day
🏋️‍♀️ Weight lifting and strength training over cardio. More time spent does not equal more weight loss, maximum effort in a smaller amount of time equals more long term gains
💪 Muscles burn more calories than fat when resting. So try to gain muscle while exercising and sleep and rest lots for better hormone balance and maximum weight loss
🥤and lastly you do not need protein shakes after the gym. Your kidneys will thank you for this. If your diet is good and diverse you have enough protein for the average female gym workout
