Vitamin D is a hormone not a Vitamin!- Get Real Sunlight on Eye and Skin

2 hours of winter sun in UK. No point in taking supplements for my mitochondria if im not activating with sunlight. Making up for a week of grey at home on my solo trip. I sit and look at sky for an hour. This is handsdown the best way to make Vitamin D. I was feeling sh*i*e when I arrived and sun instantly picks me up. I no longer take Vitamin D supplements. If theres high sun put on coat and hat and sit out in sun. I see so many people with sunglasses here and i bet half of them feel awful cause they are not letting light in their eyes. We hear so much noise about applying high SPF often, but so little about why it’s soo important to let your skin get some sunshine (mainly because suncream companies cant make money telling us the benefits of exposing our skin to the sun). Did you know that your skin makes a far superior form of Vitamin D from real sun than from taking a supplement?

The benefits of vitamin D are so important for bone, heart, brain health, mental health. Did you know that Vitamin D makes the walls of our cells more resistant to infection from colds and flu viruses like Covid 19 ?
I still am surprised i am still seeing adults in my clinic who have never had their vitamin D levels checked, EVER. We have a rising number of Multiple Sclerosis MS diagnosis in Ireland due to low levels of sun. Is it any wonder we have so many depressed and chronically ill patients?

Minerals magnesium and Boran are critical cofactors to make vitamin d. If yours is low you might be low in those. Or your liver may be too congested to make it. Its a hormone not a Vitamin! Healthy levels of CHOLESTEROL MAKES VITAMIN D in the liver. Low cholesterol can be a sign you cant make enough Vit D if yours is low. If your eyes or skin is sun sensitive it can be a sign you need more antioxidants. Think green tea, berries, resveratrol, Alpha Lipoc Acid and NAC and glutathione-all in my suitcase.
